Bamboo and bamboo charcoal used for deodorising and dehumidifying

What is Bamboo Charcoal?

Bamboo charcoal is made by heating moso bamboo in an oven at high temperatures, a process called pyrolysis. This results in a highly porous charcoal with a large surface area, giving the bamboo charcoal excellent absorption and adsorption properties.

DID YOU KNOW?

close relative of bamboo charcoal, carbonised bamboo filament, was used in the invention of the light bulb by Thomas Edison?

Bamboo charcoal has been used for centuries in various cultures for its purifying and detoxifying properties. It's commonly used in air and water filtration systems to remove impurities and odours.

Bamboo charcoal is an excellent odour eliminator as it captures moisture, pollutants, and unpleasant smells. Placing bamboo charcoal in areas that trap moisture from sweat, like running shoes, helps to fight the bacteria that grow and produce these odours. The pores allow air to pass through, enabling the charcoal to effectively cleanse and purify the surrounding air.
